Mint can help in the battle against mice in the home. Mint should be planted around your home’s perimeter. Mice will not want to live anywhere near it. Mint leaves are a great way to make mice living in your home think twice. While this will usually do, make sure the mint leaves are fresh.
If you recycle each week, make sure that the recycles are rinsed efficiently. Specifically watch out for soda cans, as the sugars in sodas attract many different pests. The soda needs to be rinsed clean before anything is put inside the garage.
You may believe that your home has no signs of pest problems? However, you should still regularly check your entire home. Any part of the dwelling that is underground could be affected by subterranean termites. Don’t neglect to check your crawl space or basement.
Remove fallen trees from your yard as soon as possible. Cut up the branches and the trunk to use for firewood. You can use it, sell it or just give it away. Do not neglect to get rid of the stump, as well. Stumps are no longer alive and therefore can draw termites.
Pests love to hide inside of the drains in your home. Clean and maintain the drains at least monthly. You can use liquid drain cleaners or run a snake down the drain. Humidity and debris can cause mold to grow, and this environment is perfect for pests.
